Managing a medical practice today often involves more than just patient care. Between licensing, documentation, and evolving state regulations, it can quickly become overwhelming. With structured healthcare compliance consulting, Dr. April’s team provides a clear, organized approach to help you stay on track. From tracking CME requirements to monitoring license renewals, the goal is to create a system that supports consistency without adding unnecessary complexity.
What states do you collaborate in?
We currently support providers in most states through collaborative physician services, with a few exceptions. At this time, we do not operate in Alabama, Colorado, Mississippi, Oklahoma, or Tennessee.
There are also specific limitations in certain states. For example, in Georgia and Missouri, collaboration is limited to telemedicine-based practices. Physical locations are not supported in those states. Because requirements can vary, we always recommend confirming your state’s guidelines with our team so you have a clear understanding before moving forward.
What happens if regulations change?
Healthcare regulations are not static, especially when it comes to the corporate practice of medicine. Changes can affect how practices are structured, how providers collaborate, and what documentation is required.
Our team keeps track of these updates and shares relevant information when it impacts your setup. If a change applies to your practice, we help you understand what it means and what adjustments may be needed so you can continue operating within current guidelines.
Do you support specialty practices like aesthetics or women’s health?
Yes, we work with a variety of specialties through our medical practice consulting services. This includes medical aesthetics, functional medicine, women’s health, IV hydration therapy, and primary care.
Each specialty may have slightly different requirements depending on the state, scope of services, and level of oversight needed. We help you evaluate those factors so your practice structure aligns with both your clinical focus and regulatory expectations.
Is this a good fit if I’m starting or working part-time?
For many providers, this is a practical option when preparing to start a medical practice or when transitioning into private practice gradually. Some clients begin part-time while maintaining other professional commitments, then expand as their patient base grows.
The structure is flexible enough to support different stages of growth, allowing you to adjust your collaboration needs over time rather than committing to something that does not match your current situation.
Can I open multiple locations or expand into other states?
Expansion is possible, but it requires careful planning. Each state has its own rules related to medical practice ownership laws, and those rules can affect how you structure additional locations or enter new markets.
We assist in reviewing your goals and mapping out a compliant approach to growth. Whether you are adding another location locally or expanding into another state, the focus is on aligning your structure with applicable regulations from the start.
Can I still use my own attorney or CPA?
Yes, you are free to continue working with your current legal and financial professionals. Many clients already have trusted advisors in place.
If needed, we can collaborate with them or provide introductions to healthcare professionals. This can be helpful when your practice structure includes elements such as compliance reviews or coordination with broader healthcare consulting services.
What does a monthly check-in look like?
Monthly check-ins are part of maintaining ongoing physician supervision services. These sessions are designed to review key aspects of your practice, including documentation, compliance expectations, and updates from your state.
The exact format can vary depending on where you operate and the type of services you provide. The goal is to maintain consistency and ensure that required oversight is documented appropriately.
How do chart audits work?
Chart audits are conducted through your EMR system as part of your agreement with a collaborating physician. Each month, a percentage of patient charts is reviewed.
The number of charts and level of detail depend on your state’s requirements and your specialty. This process supports proper documentation and helps ensure that records reflect the care being provided.
Can I offer both telehealth and in-person services?
In many cases, providers can offer both, but it depends on how your practice is structured and what is allowed under your state’s regulations. A telemedicine collaborative physician arrangement may involve different requirements compared to in-person services.
We help you evaluate your options so you understand what is permitted and how to structure your services accordingly.
Do I need an MSO in my state?
Whether you need an MSO depends on how your state interprets the corporate practice of medicine and whether an MSO healthcare structure is required for your setup.
Factors such as ownership, licensing, and the services you plan to offer all play a role. We help you review these elements to determine the appropriate structure for your state.
What does the monthly fee look like?
Our medical director services are structured with transparency in mind. There are no hidden fees, and pricing is based on factors such as service scope and patient volume.
Before you begin, we walk through the details so you understand exactly what is included and how the fee applies to your specific situation.
